Base64 Data URI Generator
Build production-ready data URIs with our Base64 Data URI Generator. Start from plain text, encoded UTF-8 safely including emojis, or from existing raw Base64, pick a MIME type from presets or type your own, and get a complete data:...;base64,... URI instantly. Beyond the raw URI, the tool emits copy-ready embed snippets: an HTML img tag, a CSS background-image rule, and a Markdown image, each updating live as you type. Payload length is shown so you can judge embed weight before shipping. Everything runs instantly and locally in your browser.

Questions People Ask
Honest answers about how this works.
What is the difference between this and File to Base64?
This tool builds data URIs from typed or pasted text and Base64, and focuses on embed snippets for HTML, CSS, and Markdown. File to Base64 starts from an uploaded file of any type and reports size overhead.
Does my content leave the browser?
No. Encoding and snippet generation run entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored.
Which MIME type should I pick?
Match the real content: image/png for PNG bytes, text/plain for text, application/json for JSON. Browsers use it to decide how to render the embed, so a wrong type shows a broken result.
Why is the URI longer than my text?
Base64 expands content by about 33%, plus the data:...;base64, prefix. The live length display shows the exact cost before you embed it.
