Does it work on high-res 4K photos?
Short answer: Yes. The selection you drag on screen is scaled by the ratio between the displayed size and the original dimensions, so the server receives real pixel coordinates rather than preview coordinates. A 4K photo crops at full fidelity, and the output keeps every pixel the selected region covered in the source file.
Can I really undo my crop?
Great question. Yes. Hit Reset before generating and the selection returns to the full frame, so a rectangle dragged too tight can be corrected without re-uploading. The preset ratios — freeform, square, portrait, and landscape — also snap the box back to a valid shape. Only the Generate action actually writes a new file.
What format does the cropped image download in?
Always PNG. The crop API re-encodes the extracted region as PNG regardless of whether you uploaded JPEG or WebP, which keeps circular crops transparent and avoids a second lossy compression pass. The file returns as cropped-originalname, and the pixels inside your selection keep their original resolution.
