Is this effect animated?
Short answer: Not in the download. The preview advances the sine-wave phase each frame so you can see the ripple move, but the export renders a single frame at your current amplitude, frequency, and phase settings as a static PNG. Use the phase slider to pick the frame you want before saving.
Does it work on large images?
Short answer: Yes. The full-resolution pixels are processed in memory with typed arrays, while the preview is rescaled to your display so interaction stays responsive. Very large files take a few extra seconds to distort, and memory use depends on your device, but the download is always written at the source image's native dimensions.
What happens at the edges of the image?
Three edge modes decide what fills the space the wave pulls away from: Clamp repeats the border pixel, Wrap pulls pixels from the opposite side for a seamless stretch, and Transparent leaves the gap empty so your PNG keeps an alpha border. Choose Transparent only when the backdrop is also set to transparent.
