Symmetric shapes first square-crop your photo from the center so the geometry never sits lopsided, while the rounded rectangle keeps your original dimensions and exposes a corner radius slider from 0 to 200 pixels with Soft, Medium, Large, and Pill presets. The mask itself is generated as an SVG and composited against your image server-side, giving clean anti-aliased edges at full resolution. Pick a transparent background to export a PNG with true alpha, or a solid color to receive a JPEG at quality 95. Nothing is retained once the render returns.

Does the circle mode crop my image?
Yes. For a perfect circle the photo is first square-cropped from the center, so equal distances are available in every direction for the mask, and the circle path is then composited over it at full resolution. Areas outside the shape become transparent in PNG output or your chosen solid color in JPEG output.
Why is PNG recommended for transparent output?
JPEG has no alpha channel, so any region outside the shape would come back filled with a solid color instead of transparency. PNG stores the alpha channel the mask produces, keeping corners and curved edges see-through when the image sits over a photo or colored panel. Choose JPEG only when you have selected a solid background.
What happens to the photo outside the shape?
It is discarded during the mask composite. The area outside the SVG path is written as full transparency in PNG output, or filled with the solid background color you chose in JPEG output, so nothing beyond the mask survives into the downloaded file. Check the preview before you export.
Which shapes square-crop my photo first?
Every symmetric shape — circle, heart, star, triangle, diamond, hexagon, pentagon, shield, arrow, octagon, and cross — is resized to a centered square before masking so the geometry lines up. Only the rounded rectangle keeps your original width and height, with the radius applied to its corners.
