Does this work on old .doc files?
Honestly? This tool is optimized for the modern .docx format, which is a ZIP archive the editor can unpack safely. For older binary .doc files, open them in Word or LibreOffice and save them as .docx first, then run the edit here for reliable results.
Can I really remove all metadata at once?
Yes, you can simply clear all the fields in the editor and save the document to remove the properties this tool manages: title, creator, subject, keywords, description, company, and application. Note that properties outside that list, such as revision counters or last-modified-by names, are left exactly as they are.
Does editing metadata change my document's content?
No. Only the two small property files are rewritten while the document body, styles, images, and formatting pass through untouched. Word will simply show the new author or title the next time someone opens the file or checks its properties panel.
