Is this good for AI prompts?
Yes. The splitter is built for preparing documents for models with context limits. Use character or line splitting with a small overlap so consecutive chunks retain shared context, then paste each chunk into your prompt in order without losing meaning.
Does my text leave the browser?
No. Text Splitter reads and divides your content with local JavaScript only. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so confidential manuscripts, internal reports, or code files are chunked privately on your device, and they disappear when you close the browser tab entirely.
Can I split at a custom delimiter?
Yes. Enter any string such as a heading marker, double hyphen, or blank line pattern, and the tool cuts the text wherever that delimiter appears. Every occurrence becomes a boundary, giving you complete control over where each chunk begins and ends.
Will splitting lose any characters?
No. Every character of your input ends up in exactly one chunk in the original order, with nothing dropped. The only exception is an optional overlap, which intentionally repeats a few lines between neighboring chunks to preserve context for AI use.
