Tool Settings

Successfully decoded SVG renders instantly below the editors, with the full vector source in the output panel and one-click .svg download.

Example Use Case

Inspect vector icons buried in JSON configs, stylesheets, or API responses — see them rendered and grab the clean source.

Real-time Processing

All processing happens locally in your browser. Large files are handled in memory and never uploaded to any server.

Base64 to SVG

Turn Base64 back into editable vector graphics with our Base64 to SVG decoder. Paste any Base64 SVG payload, or a full data URI, and get three things at once: a live rendered preview of the vector, the complete SVG source code ready to copy, and a one-click .svg download. Decoding is UTF-8 aware and validated twice: the content must actually be SVG markup, and it must be well-formed XML, or you get a precise error naming the problem instead of a broken render. Full data URIs are accepted directly, URL-safe alphabets normalized, and everything runs instantly and locally in your browser.

Why This Tool Exists

What makes this useful — and why I built it this way.

See It Rendered: Live preview proves the vector is intact.

Editable Source: Full markup back, ready to modify.

Strict Validation: Non-SVG and malformed XML caught clearly.

Flexible Input: Raw payloads and data URIs both accepted.

Local Processing: Data never leaves your browser.

When You'd Use This

Real situations where this tool saves the day.

Frontend Debugging: See icons buried in configs actually rendered.

Asset Recovery: Rebuild .svg files from embedded strings.

CMS Work: Extract vector logos from exported content.

Code Review: Verify encoded SVGs before merging.

Design Handoff: Turn strings back into designer-ready files.

Copy the source or download the .svg file.

Questions People Ask

Honest answers about how this works.

What is the difference between this and Base64 to Image?

Base64 to Image previews any raster or vector image as a flat picture with download. Base64 to SVG is vector-specific: it validates the XML, shows the editable source code, renders a live preview, and downloads a true .svg file.

Does my data leave the browser?

No. Decoding, validation, rendering, and downloads all happen locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored.

Why does it say my content is not SVG?

The decoded text must start with an <svg> tag (or an XML prolog followed by one). Raster images, PDFs, or plain text decode fine as bytes but are not vector markup, so the tool refuses them with the opening characters shown.

Can I paste a full data URI instead of raw Base64?

Yes. If the input starts with data:, only the payload after the comma is decoded, so URIs copied straight from CSS or HTML work without manual trimming.
