Does it handle nested lists?
Short answer: Yes, our converter maintains the nesting structure for both ordered and unordered lists, including mixed lists where numbering switches mid-branch, so a three-level outline in Word comes back as properly indented Markdown ready for any renderer.
What about images?
Images are currently handled as markdown references rather than embedded files, so the paths point at assets you host yourself. We recommend exporting and hosting images separately for the best markdown performance and portable links across repositories.
Do tables convert properly?
Yes. Word tables become standard pipe syntax that renders on GitHub, GitLab, and most documentation platforms. Complex layouts with merged or spanning cells are simplified into plain rows and columns, so review the output if your table depends on those advanced features.
Can I convert only part of a document?
Not directly; the whole file is converted each time. Copy the section you need from the output window and discard the rest, or split the source document into smaller .docx files first if you regularly extract single chapters.
