Does it support long text in cells?
Yes. Long strings stay in their own cell and vertical bars are escaped so they cannot break the row, so descriptions with commas, quotes, or bar characters still render as one cell. A line break inside a value is the one thing Markdown tables cannot show cleanly, so flatten those fields before converting if your data contains them.
Can I really choose column alignment?
Great question. Yes. Each column gets its own alignment choice, and the tool writes the colon markers in the separator row to match: a colon on the left for left alignment, both sides for centered, right side for numbers. You can mix them freely, for example text left and totals right.
How does it handle pipes inside a cell?
A vertical bar inside a cell would break the table, so the converter escapes it before writing the row, and quoted fields containing commas or line breaks are flattened safely. The first row becomes the header, the separator row follows your alignment choice, and every other row keeps its data intact.
